Last chance to enter this year’s General Practice Awards
By Julie Griffiths
19 May 2026

The deadline for the General Practice Awards 2026 is on Sunday 31 May, so there is not long left to enter.

Now in its 18th year, the awards recognise the people, teams and organisations doing important work across primary care.

It could be a colleague who has gone above and beyond, a team that has improved patient care, or a project that has made a clear difference to patients, staff or services.

Entering is a chance to give that work more visibility and recognise the people behind it. It is also a way to share examples of good practice with the wider primary care community.

The awards cover a range of work across general practice, including patient care, clinical improvement, teamwork, leadership and innovation.

Healthcare Leader readers can nominate colleagues and teams working in general practice, practice management, pharmacy, PCNs, workforce wellbeing, sustainability and clinical improvement, as well as supplier organisations supporting the sector.

Entrants can submit across multiple categories. So, readers can put forward different people, teams, projects or areas of work.

Strong entries should show the impact of the work.

This might include benefits for patients, service users, or staff; new ways of working; data; shared learning; future plans; or testimonials from patients, colleagues, or partners.

There is still time to prepare an entry before the deadline.

The Entry Submission Guide sets out what entrants will be asked to provide in the online form, including the shortlist name, overview and full story sections, plus character limits and tips on what to include.

Entries close on Sunday 31 May 2026.
