Voluntary organisations and community groups can now apply for a £25,000 grant from Canterbury and Coastal clinical commissioning group (CCG).
The scheme, which urges local groups to apply for a share of the money, echoes Darlington CCG’s scheme, which was launched in September this year.

Darlington CCG offered £50,000 in funding to organisations with projects that could link to the CCG’s strategic objectives. Each project was able to bid for between £2,500 and £25,000.
However, there will be no upper or lower limits for the amount of money organisations can apply for in the Canterbury and Coastal scheme, to ensure that it is “as flexible as possible”.
Gillian Wells, lay member at Canterbury and Coastal CCG, said: "The CCG is committed to improving local healthcare services and encouraging people to live well.
“We hope that organisations will be able to use this funding to continue existing projects or come up with new projects that are aimed at supporting local people and their healthcare needs.”
