Dr Steve Kell will step down as co-chair of NHSCC in March, when he will also leave his role as clinical chair of NHS Bassetlaw CCG.
Kell has been a GP for just over 14 years and is also a managing partner at Larwood Surgery, which has 14 partners, and more than 27,000 patients.
He also sits on the NHS England Specialised Services Collaborative Commissioning Programme Oversight Group.

Speaking about his departure, he said: “It has been a huge privilege being co-chair of NHSCC, and with the support of my co-chair Amanda Doyle and the NHSCC board, we have driven the organisation forward and I am very proud of the amount we have achieved for our members.
“NHSCC has been at the forefront of the co-commissioning primary care agenda, we have ensured that there will be no further cuts to CCG running costs and have proved influential on a number of important issues such as the tariff threshold, specialised commissioning and the CCG assurance framework,” he added.
NHSCC chief executive Julie Wood said he played a “critical role” in establishing NHSCC as the independent voice of CCGs.
“Whilst we are very sad that he cannot continue as NHSCC co-chair we are sure that he will use his own clinical leadership to support a robust and vibrant primary care service locally,” she said.
