NHS Alliance has launched a network of inspirational young NHS workers with the aim of giving a voice to the “leaders of tomorrow”.
Unveiled yesterday at the NHS Alliance’s annual conference, the network contains NHS managers, pharmacists, and representatives of the community.
Four members of the new network grilled the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt about the future of the NHS.
Speaking at the event he said: “It’s vitally important that we ensure there is a new generation of health professionals to take on the challenges that the NHS is currently facing.
“As part of the only independent organisation to speak exclusively for primary care, this network will play a crucial part in ensuring the NHS remains sustainable in the future, and that it continues to provide patients and the public with exceptional care.”
Dr Michael Dixon, chair, NHS Alliance said: “The NHS Alliance is currently focused on ensuring that primary care is fit for a future that will face increasing financial demands, and pressures from an ageing population.
“We passionately believe that it if we have any chance of making this vision for primary care a reality, then we will need to identify and nurture a generation of new, young leaders.”
