Almost 25,000 GPs have signed up to the Royal College of GPs’ (RCGP) revalidation tool as the process formally launched yesterday (Monday 3 December 2012).
It is claimed the take-up highlights that GPs are approaching the revalidation process “positively”.
The learning tool enables GPs to record their continuing professional development while integrating general medical council (GMC) patient and colleague questionnaires, with self-assessment and benchmarking facilities.

“We are really pleased with the take-up of the RCGP Revalidation ePortfolio – and the positive feedback we have received form GPs already using it,” said Professor Nigel Sparrow, the RCGP lead for revalidation.
“As revalidation is officially introduced, it demonstrates how individual GPs are approaching the process positively as a way of continuously developing their own knowledge and skills to benefit patient care.”
