Lord Andrew Mawson and Sir David Dalton have been appointed as strategic advisors to the NHS Transformation Unit.
They will join the newly established strategic advisory group, which was introduced to provide ‘strategy, policy and business development advice and support’ to the NHS Transformation Unit board.
The NHS Transformation Unit is an NHS not-for-profit organisation that supports NHS organisations with consultancy services.
Who is Lord Andrew Mawson?
Lord Mawson has over 35 years of experience as a social entrepreneur and innovator. He is better known as the founder of the Bromley-by-Bow Centre in East London – a community organisation providing primary care services from three GP practices. It also provides health, employment, social enterprise, and welfare advice from various sites.
In 2007, he was made a life peer in recognition of his work for the community.
Who is Sir David Dalton?
Sir David (pictured) has been a chief executive at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust for 18 years, from which he retired in March.
Under his leadership, the trust set its ambition to be the safest organisation in the NHS.
He was also group chief executive of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, which includes five hospitals, specialist and acute services and a range of community services.
