The RCGP’s Awards Committee bestows honorary fellowship on a small number of individuals outside the field of general practice who have made key contributions to the advancement of health and patient care.
Commenting on the award, Dr Carter (pictured) said: “While I am personally very proud to receive this honorary fellowship, I feel it is a great tribute to the RCN’s success in working effectively alongside our general practitioner colleagues.
"The RCN work in close partnership with the RPS and RCGP on a broad range of issues. We have many shared interests in representing our members and promoting excellence in patient care, and I know that this positive relationship between the professions will continue.”
Helen Gordon said: "The RPS enjoys an increasingly close relationship with both the RCGP and RCN and collaboration on work that helps improve patient care is a joint ambition. I am both proud and humbled to receive this honorary fellowship from the RCGP."
