Tom Abell has been appointed to the role of CEO at Mid and South Essex ICB, replacing interim CEO Tracy Dowling.
Mr Abell joins from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, where he has held the position of chief executive since August 2021.
He was also previously deputy chief executive officer at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust from April 2020 to July 2021, and chief transformation officer at Mid Essex Hospitals for three years prior to that.
Mr Abell will begin his role in early August.

Mr Abell said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining NHS Mid and South Essex as chief executive. I’m looking forward to working closely with our staff, stakeholders, partners and of course our patients to further develop and improve the care we provide.’
