The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched an interactive map to show people how well their local care homes have been rated.
However, nearly a quarter of care homes (23.5%) have been excluded.
Out of 1,700 care homes in England, 400 have been missed out of the map, which is designed to help people decide where the best local care is.
The information accompanying the guide reads: “This map gives a picture of how we've rated care homes across England.

“You can search by postcode to find services near you. Click on the coloured dots for more information and to read inspection reports.”
If the incomplete map proves useful then the CQC “will consider making it foolproof and 100% accurate. Most homes are on there,” a spokesperson for the CQC said.
Google maps can only show a maximum number of markers in each postcode, so using it for a large number of markers (eg care homes) means that some will be eliminated.
