South East London ICB has appointed One Bromley Partnership as the ‘integrator’ to lead the neighbourhood health service in the Bromley borough, with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as its ‘host organisation’, it has said.
The partnership will be set up as a neighbourhood provider group, with members from the place-based partnership, One Bromley Executive, and hosted by the foundation trust.
The integrators will be the organisations providing the core infrastructure for integrated neighbourhood working as it develops, the ICB has said.
This marks the fifth ‘integrator’ appointed across the ICB’s six boroughs, following four appointments earlier this year. Greenwich borough is the last area within South East London ICB and is expected to put arrangements in place ‘in the coming weeks’.
These organisations were first outlined in the London ICBs’ neighbourhood plan, which was published in May. This said that each place would be responsible for nominating a integrator organisation from within the place to ‘host the identified integration functions required to enable primary community, mental health, acute specialist, local authority, VCFSE and other partners to work together effectively at neighbourhood level’.
South East London ICB said these integrators will not be a replacement for place-based partnerships, which will continue to have ‘significant roles’ in delivering local ambitions.
It added the integrators would be ‘critical’ for creating ‘cohesive, proactive, targeted, and sustainable services that place individuals and communities at the centre’.
Andrew Bland, chief executive officer for NHS South East London, said: ‘We are making great strides towards delivering neighbourhood health services that prioritise local communities.
‘With integrators now in place across five of our six boroughs, I am proud to say we are close to completing the local infrastructure needed to support neighbourhood working across south east London, with Greenwich due to follow suit imminently.’
The other approved integrators in the ICB are:
- Southwark: A partnership between GSTT and GP federations: Improving Health Ltd and Quay Health Solutions. GSTT will host the arrangement.
- Bexley: The borough’s health and care partnership between the London Borough of Bexley, Bexley Health Neighbourhood CiC, Primary Care Networks, and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Oxleas will host the arrangement.
- Lambeth: A partnership between Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and Lambeth General Practice Provider Alliance. GSTT will host the arrangement.
- Lewisham: A partnership between the London Borough of Lewisham, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, primary care, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the voluntary and community sector. Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will host the arrangement.
Dr Angela Bhan, Bromley place board director, said: ‘In Bromley, initiatives like BCHIP are already demonstrating the power of bringing services closer to home and embracing a community-centric neighbourhood working model. With our borough’s integrator now confirmed, we can expand these efforts, enabling communities to thrive and access the care they need more conveniently.’
Professor Clive Kay, chief executive of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added: ‘We are pleased to support this important development, which builds on our existing partnership with One Bromley. As the host organisation, we will help support effective neighbourhood health services, which offer real benefits for patients, as well as local healthcare providers.’
