Greater Manchester ICB’s chief executive, Mark Fisher, is currently suspended amid an internal investigation, the ICB has said.
A spokesperson for the ICB said he was suspended on a ‘precautionary basis’ in accordance with its whistleblowing, HR and governance framework.
They said: ‘We can confirm that chief executive, Mark Fisher is currently suspended on a precautionary basis whilst an internal process takes place in accordance with our whistleblowing, HR and governance frameworks.
‘Given no findings have been made at this stage it is essential that no assumptions are drawn. Due to confidentiality and fairness to all parties we are unable to comment further at this time.’
It added that interim leadership arrangements are in place, with deputy chief executive Colin Scales covering to ‘ensure continuity and stability’.
In September, Mr Fisher announced he would be retiring at the end of March 2026. He was first appointed chief executive of Greater Manchester ICB when it was established in 2022.
He is set to retire after 42 years of public service, including as director general in the Cabinet Office, and secretary to the Grenfell Tower public inquiry.
