A cancer awareness bus arranged by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB has just completed a tour of the region, speaking to 5,866 people over 15 days.

The bus travelled to 15 different towns around the region in March and April, with the local NHS cancer team on board and talking to people about cancer.

The tour has given people the chance to ask questions, improve their knowledge and know what symptoms to look out for.

The team gave information on the different types of cancer, who is at risk, what the different symptoms are, and what different NHS cancer screening programmes are available to help detect cancer early.

Over the 15 days, the team on the cancer awareness bus spoke to 5,866 people and was often joined by colleagues from partner organisations.

For example, Everyone Health joined the team to offer the public free health checks, with more than 150 people taking up the opportunity.

The ICB said it hoped to run the awareness tour again in 2025/26.
