The clinical vice chair of East Leicestershire and Rutland clinical commissioning group (CCG) has stepped down in order to be a full time GP.
Dr Hamant Mistry will leave the role at the end of June. He had been involved in medical leadership in the area since 2001.

The managing director of East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG, Dr Dave Briggs said: "[Hamant] has made a long lasting and significant contribution to the healthcare system in Leicestershire and Rutland, not least in the development of ELR CCG from a fledgling organisation into what we are today.
"We wish him well as he returns to full time practice in Market Harborough, where I am sure he will be warmly welcomed by patients in the community."
Dr Mistry said: "Although I will be sad to leave colleagues in ELR CCG, I am looking forward to being able to deliver healthcare to my patients again, within the community where I live and work."
He joins at least five other CCG leaders who have stepped down to work more closely with patients.
