Examples of outstanding general practice have been collated in an online tool produced by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), in order to help GPs and commissioners spread effective innovation.
The inspections have been taking place since October 2014, and approximately 1,200 GP practice inspection reports have been published.

The tool aims to provide commissioners with real-world, illustrative examples of high quality general practice that other providers can refer to.
The examples are divided into the five key questions that the CQC asks when making judgements about the quality of a service in an inspection, as well as the six patient population groups they pay particular attention to.
Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of general practice at CQC, said: “It is great to see some of the fantastic examples of care our inspectors have found so far. These examples demonstrate where providers have gone above and beyond the regulations to deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care that is responsive to the needs of their patients.
“I would urge GPs to look at this outstanding practice and learn from it so we can work together to improve the quality of care provided across the whole of England,” he said.
