Oxfordshire clinical commissioning group (CCG) has extended a contract with Deloitte in a bid to find savings.
The CCG had previously signed a deal for £344,560 with the management consultants between November 2013 and January 2014, which will end on April 30 2014.
During this time, 12 Deloitte staff identified savings of £15.8 million for 2014/15. The latest contract is worth £494,000.

A spokesman from the CCG told a local newspaper: “It is not possible to employ sufficient expert staff to every eventuality. That is why there are times when we need specialist help.”
Oxford East Labour MP Andrew Smith said: “These costs of consultancy are huge, especially given the financial pressures the NHS is under locally.
“As it stands, they seem to be spending more than planned on consultancy, yet realising less in savings and efficiency than planned.”
Oxfordshire CCG is facing a £6.1 million overspend.
