Pioneers: Norfolk shortlisted

Pioneers: Norfolk shortlisted

West Norfolk has been shortlisted as one of NHS England’s integrated care pioneers.

The West Norfolk bid involves 10 organisations, led by NHS West Norfolk CCG and Norfolk County Council.

If chosen, the organisations would use a ‘multi-agency’ approach to improving patient experiences.

West Norfolk has already implemented an Integrated Care Organisation pilot, but if successful, the pioneer programme would see the system extended to district council, voluntary and independent partners as well as health and social care teams.

Older people would be connected with their communities, their specialist health and social care services and their local care providers.

Late last month Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly announced they have also been shortlisted for the programme.

Announced by Care and Support Minister Norman Lamb, the pioneer programme would give expert advice and monetary support to teams across the UK who show promise in integrating care.

The winning bids for the pioneer programme will be announced later this month.
