Two new urgent care centres (UCCs) are soon to open in Halton, with the aim of reducing pressure on nearby A&E departments.
The local walk-in centre is being extended, and a new community decision unit is being launched at Halton Hospital.
Halton clinical commissioning group (CCG) aims to complete the project by September 2014.
Children and young person’s emergency care will be provided at the centres, with specialist paediatric nurses and GPs on hand.

Simon Banks, Halton CCG chief officer said: “We are bringing medical care closer to home for local people, bringing quality services that Halton residents can access immediately when they need it, and take away the worry and stress of travelling to Warrington or Whiston A&E departments.”
