With just two weeks to go until the Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference, taking place in Birmingham on 21-22 June, the conversations taking place across primary care have never felt more relevant.
The government’s announcement that Pharmacy First will expand to include independent prescribing from autumn 2026 marked another significant step in the evolution of community pharmacy’s role within neighbourhood healthcare.
Although the change marks a key step for delivering more preventative, accessible and joined-up care across local systems, it also highlights the importance of collaboration between community pharmacy, general practice, and the wider primary care system.
The inaugural Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference comes at a pivotal moment, as the two-day event will bring together leaders from across general practice, community pharmacy and integrated care systems to explore how closer collaboration can help deliver more sustainable and integrated care.
Joining the programme, Yinke Kuye, Head of Pharmacy, Primary Care Transformation and Medicines Optimisation, Thames Valley ICB, Pharmacy Digital Lead, Thames Valley ICS, and Ananya Datta, Associate Director of Primary Care Digital Delivery, NHS South East London ICB, will both explore how digital innovation can strengthen collaboration across primary care, from improving day-to-day connectivity between services to harnessing emerging technologies that support more integrated neighbourhood care.
Their sessions will complement a wider programme focused on the future of primary care, bringing together leaders from across primary care to share insights, address common challenges and identify opportunities for closer collaboration.
Registration closes soon. Secure your place at the Community Pharmacy & General Practice Conference today to join the conversation.
