More than 25% of workers do not respect their boss and are not motivated by them, a survey has shown.

Researchers questioned more than 2,000 employees and highlighted the impact of poor management on staff.

A third of the respondents said their boss fails to give clear instructions or constructive criticism. A quarter also said they thought their superiors talked down to them.

The People 1st Training Company said poor management and communications were leading to high staff turnover, reduced productivity and low retention.

Spokeswoman Sharon Glancy said: “Loyalty, morale, performance and productivity all suffer when management gets it wrong.”
