New leaders appointed to implement integrated care

Two new leaders have today been appointed by NHS England, Monitor and the Trust Development Authority (TDA) to support the implementation of care models outlined in NHS England’s Five Year Forward View.

Samantha Jones, Chief Executive of Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals has been appointed as Director of New Models of Care.

Sir Sam Everington will help lead national work on primary care-driven care models and service redesign. He is a senior GP in Tower Hamlets who was recently listed in the New Year Honours List (2015) for his work as CCG chair, board member of NHS Clinical Commissioners, trustee of  The King’s Fund, and member of the BMA Council.

In addition, Dr Don Berwick will provide advice in international models of care integration, beginning with an event on January 23rd.
