A third clinical commissioning group (CCG) has launched a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event to identify worthy mental health projects.

Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield (DDES) CCG is inviting voluntary and community organisations to compete for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Innovation grant worth £100,000.

The organisations have been asked to pitch their ideas to the CCG.

As with  Darlington CCG and Canterbury and Coastal CCG’s plans, the schemes must fit the CCG’s strategic objectives.

Annie Dolphin, lay chair of DDES CCG said: "There are many fantastic and imaginative voluntary and community organisations operating within our area and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to find out more about the difference they make to the lives of local people.

"It's also a good opportunity to find out more about our CCG and our role in planning and buying health services."

Organisations can bid for funds from £2,500 to £10,000 for their project to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals in the area.
